When I came into the project the information architecture for the site had been well underway for upwards of 3 months. There was a 40+ page Google Doc outlining functionality requests, design ideas, and the majority of the content had all been prepared.

With the exceptionally quick turn around time, the site design followed a strict timeline. Every one to three days during the two week design period, 1 to 3 pages were designed and submitted for the team to review. Feedback usually came in at the start of the next day, and I would make those revisions before starting the next round of pages. It got a big hectic and the order we had created in the beginning got a slightly off track but the design timeline remained on track throughout the entire process. On the final day of designing, the entirety of the site design with all revisions was packaged up and sent for final approval. Once that was received, the Wordpress build began.

The MyWorkplaceHealth site was built on a self-hosted Wordpress site over the course about 10 days. I had intended to build each page out as the revisions came in but with the number of pages to create and the edits to be made, it ended up making most sense to do it all at once, once the final designs had been revised and approved. A few hiccups arose along the way and some of the original designs had to be reworked a bit to accommodate functionality restrictions and the time limitations.

At final count the custom site came in at a whopping 68 pages - 21 content pages and 47 individual team member pages.

To enhance the site’s functionality and streamline some backend processes we did a small Dubsado set up to make use of the its scheduling and lead capture capabilities. MailChimp integration was also added to the site and SEO was done at the end of the build to reduce the amount of time spent making revisions as pages were deleted and updated throughout the build.
