*the number of photos you receive depends on a number of factors but for guesstimation purposes, an hour of shooting typically results in a gallery of at least 50 photos
My approach to photography is documentary-style—natural, relaxed, and hands-off. I won’t be staging or directing every shot or micromanaging the way you move. Instead, I step back and let things unfold organically, capturing the real moments as they happen. You might hear me gently suggest finding the light or turning slightly, and sometimes “do that again but slower,” but otherwise, I’m just in the background cheering you on with a steady stream of “wow, stunning.”

These sessions are relaxed and intuitive, with a documentary approach that captures honest moments and natural connection.

With a gentle and intuitive approach, these shoots focus on real, unposed moments, favouring moments of connection, authenticity, and honest storytelling so we create galleries of images that feels both artful and deeply personal.

These sessions are fully documentary in spirit — natural, relaxed, and unhurried. There’s never any pressure to perform or pose in a certain way, in fact, the less posing, the better. I’ll sometimes give light direction when it helps (usually something like moving toward the light or shifting slightly closer together), but for the most part I quietly observe and capture what’s already there.

Minis

Perfect for family photos, maternity photos, engagements, or a few refreshed headshots, mini sessions are an affordable way to mark and capture moments in time. Minis, 20 minute sessions, are offered seasonally and are usually offered in an outdoor location in the Victoria, BC area.

Mini sessions are short, simple, and very gently guided. Because of the condensed timing, I do offer a little bit of direction to help us move efficiently, but the overall feeling is still very relaxed and natural.
You’ll receive a brief email with a few things to think about but for the most part, there’s no need to over-prepare or worry about doing it “right.” Just show up and together we’ll work with the environment, the light, and capture whatever unfolds in those twenty minutes. The result is always a small collection of beautiful images that reflects the particular season you’re in.
